Wealth - Promoting Local Sustainable Economic Development

Wealth Project - Promoting Local Sustainable Economic Development

PEN, a Professional Euro-Mediterranean Network which brings together partners from Italy, Portugal, Israel, and the West Bank, launched its activities on September 24, 2012. The Network engages key stakeholders in
the Euro Med in interactive learning and exchange of knowledge and expertise. Through regular on-line meetings, PEN facilitates this exchange and strengthens the role of LSED as a strategy for nurturing economic clusters and alleviating poverty in peripheral areas.

PEN takes place within the framework of the Shatil-led local sustainable economic development (LSED) project WEALTH, supported by the ENPI CBC-MED. By fostering an alternative economic paradigm whereby wealth is defined by the wellbeing of people and the planet, the project encourages a real and sustainable economic development in the Euro Med region. Project Wealth is a partnership of:

- Shatil, The New Israel Fund's Initiative for Social Change
- CRIA, a center for innovation and research at Algarve University
- Lunaria, an Italian NGO with extensive experience in networking and advocacy
- Region Puglia , an Italian regional authority
- Shiraa, a grassroots Palestinian association from Bethlehem
